We use Mailchimp to manage our subscriber list and send out email updates. Your data is held by Mailchimp, and may be held outside the UK or EU. By signing up to our email list you consent to your data being passed to and held by Mailchimp, and that we may access these details.

We do not share your email address with other third parties, except where required by law. Your email address is used only for sending updates by us, the blog’s authors.

Mailchimp tracks whether you open our emails, and whether you click on any links in the emails. This is so we can remove subscribers who no longer engage. Mailchimp also tracks the device used to read your emails so that they are sent in the most suitable format.

Unsubscribing via this link will be actioned immediately. If you comment on a post, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
